Darlene Rolle
Darlene
(or “Auntie Kreamsaugen”) got her start in music at a very
young age. In fact, her
mother
often told her that she could sing a melody before she could
talk. Of course she had three older siblings (Richard, Dee
and Dorothy) who were also very musical, which made singing
and playing instruments an every-day event in the Hilde
household. Throughout the years, music and laughter
continued to be an important part of her life. But when
Jaspers Theater opened in 2005 she then began to entertain
audiences of all kinds. This new-found interest in
performing led her to a career as an entertainer in Arizona
and Texas during the winter months.
During the winter of 2011, she debuted her show "JUST PLAIN FUNNY" (a "comedy” of music and laughter) in senior parks in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. She was awarded the FAME (Families Advocating Moral Entertainment) award for Best Comedienne in February, 2011 in Pharr, TX, and in March, 2011 received the most votes of any category in a survey conducted by the Winter Texan Times newspaper as "Favorite Comedienne." The winter of 2012 will find her back in TX and the Winter 2013 entertaining on a 7 day Caribbean Cruise. But summertime is always reserved for enjoying Jaspers with family. She loves this verse from Proverbs 17:22 "A joyful heart is good medicine." You can follow her schedule at www.auntiekreamsaugen.com.
